It’s fantastic to see Charters Towers continuing to shine as a central hub for our rural communities!
Recently, the ICPA (Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association) held their annual two-day swim clinic at the Charters Towers Swimming Pool — and what an incredible event it was. Families travelled hundreds of kilometres, with some coming from as far as Mt Isa, so their kids could learn vital swimming and water safety skills.
This event wasn’t just about learning to swim — it was about connection. It’s moments like these that highlight the importance of accessible facilities in regional towns. Charters Towers is proud to be a place where outback families can come together, support each other, and access opportunities that build confidence, skills, and community spirit.
