HIGHLIGHT EVENTS
GOLDFIELD ASHES
The annual Charters Towers Goldfield Ashes, held in January each year, is the largest amateur cricket carnival in the Southern Hemisphere.
People come from far and wide to experience the thrill of Ashes, with over 200 teams taking part in recent carnivals. The buzz felt around town over the three-day carnival is like no other experience. Whether you're playing, spectating, or just passing through, Ashes is a must for your Charters Towers bucket-list.
COUNTRY MUSIC FEST
The Charters Towers Country Music Festival was established in 1978, and has since become a favourite on the country music calendar. The event is held on the May Day long weekend and features market stalls, guest artists, and incredible talent from all over Australia.
Highlights of the festival include the Talent Search, the original songwriting section, and of course, the children's Prince and Princess competitions. Also not to be missed is the Country Music Parade, featuring elaborate floats from local businesses, schools and community groups on the Friday evening.

CT RODEO
Charters Towers is arguably one of the biggest rodeo towns in the North, and certainly knows how to put on a show in the arena.
Held in July, you're sure to be amazed at the talent Charters Towers has to offer, with local riders often in contention for champion. This event is a great night for the whole family.
