"LOCAL MUM PUBLISHES HEARTFELT CHILDREN'S BOOK"

A Charters Towers mum has turned a real-life moment into something special.

Mum-of-four Krystle Sands has released her first children's book, Bashful Belle, inspired by her daughter's experience with shyness. What started as a simple idea has grown into a beautifully illustrated book, with the help of Townsville author Ian McIntosh and illustrator Brett Cardwell.

Now printed and available locally, it's just the beginning - with Krystle hoping to create a book for each of her children over time.
