With one-third of fly-in fly-out (FIFO) workers experiencing high levels of mental distress, according to a WA government-funded report, a town in North Queensland is experiencing a soaring demand for mine workers who want to ditch the FIFO model and work and live within the community.
Now a new campaign, Live Charters Towers, is encouraging FIFO workers to consider making the move to the region by highlighting the many sought-after benefits of the town.
